Anthony Dangerfield Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway

SACRAMENTO, CA (November 28, 2022) Anthony Ray Dangerfield died in a pedestrian accident on the 5 freeway near I Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Near downtown Sacramento, a 32-year-old Sacramento man driving a Ford Mustang was unable to swerve in time to avoid a pedestrian running east to west across the freeway.

As a result, the pedestrian, described as a transient, was thrown into the right shoulder of the northbound 5 Freeway upon impact.

Following the crash, the driver pulled over and stayed at the scene for the investigation. Arriving police officers investigated and determined that impairment did not play a role, leading to no arrest.
