Anselmo Jimenez Detained, Elio Mendez-Martinez and Jaime Moreno Hurt in Ceres DUI Crash

 
CERES, CA (December 9, 2021) — Anselmo Jimenez was arrested in a DUI accident on Service Road near Highway 99 on Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Jimenez allowed his eastbound 1998 Ford SUV to enter the westbound lane. As a result, his vehicle sideswiped a large Freightliner and collided head-on with a 2021 Dodge pickup, pinning the occupants inside. Due to the impact, the SUV overturned on its roof.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported the 65-year-old Freightliner driver, Jaime Moreno, to Doctors Medical Center and Memorial.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics brought the 25-year-old Dodge driver, Elio Mendez-Martinez, to a hospital for care, as well.
 
Following the investigation, officers arrested Jimenez on DUI and learned that he had been involved in a previous hit-and-run accident.
