Anibal Macias Jr. Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at Alameda and 22nd Streets
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 24, 2021) – A man died in a hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning in downtown Los Angeles.
The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. at Alameda Street and 22nd Street, near Washington Boulevard.
According to police, 33-year-old Anibal Macias Jr. was walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle struck and dragged him into the street. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver did not stop to render aid, police said.
Detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify the hit-and-run driver. They offered a reward of up to $50,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to the suspect’s conviction.
