Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle on East Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (September 27, 2021) – Amadeo Tapia died in a pedestrian accident in Palm Springs late Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 10:15 p.m. on September 25 at East Palm Canyon Drive and South Farrell Drive. According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the 52-year-old victim from Cathedral City was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused Tapia significant injuries. Paramedics transported him to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he died at 10:51 p.m.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the accident. Further investigation is underway.
