Alfred Balestra Dies in Cerritos Motorcycle Crash on 91 Freeway

 
CERRITOS, CA (March 24, 2021) — A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on the 91 Freeway near Norwalk Boulevard on Friday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 5:50 a.m. on March 19. Police identified 62-year-old Alfred Balestra of Long Beach.
 
Under unclear circumstances, a driver swerved from the No. 1 lane to the carpool lane. There, the vehicle struck the eastbound motorcyclist, ejecting him onto the westbound carpool lane.
 
After being ejected, an oncoming westbound vehicle struck Balestra, killing him in the accident.
 
Following the fatal crash, all involved parties remained at the scene for investigations.
