Alejandro Zuniga Killed in Train Accident on Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 4, 2022) — A construction worker identified as 33-year-old Alejandro Zuniga died in a train accident on Wednesday, March 23.
 
The incident took place at 711 South La Brea Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard at around 5:25 p.m.
 
The worker died while working at the future site of the Wilshire/La Brea Station on Metro’s Purple Line Extension Project.
 
Battalion Chief Kenneth Miller said Zuniga became trapped underneath a service train that brings equipment and personnel from the surface to the underground work site and vice versa. He died at the scene.
 
Miller said that the events that lead to the incident are not yet released. However, the death appears to be an accident, he added.
 
There were no reports of other injuries.
 
Officials continue to investigate the accident.
