Police Arrest Alejandro Perales for DUI and Hit-and-Run Charges after Fontana Crash, 3 Injured

 
FONTANA, CA (May 25, 2022) – Police arrested Alejandro Silva Perales after a DUI crash in northern Fontana on Sunday evening, May 22.
 
The crash happened around 9:35 p.m. at Sierra Avenue and Baseline Avenue. According to the Fontana Police Department, the 27-year-old suspect allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a car carrying a family of three.
 
After the crash, Perales fled the scene northbound. Police were able to locate him and detain him.
 
Silva had minor abrasions from the crash. Police arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
Meanwhile, the three people in the other car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the hospital.
 
An investigation into this crash is underway.
