Alejandro Cuellarmanado Arrested, Four Injured after DUI Collision on Highway 101 near Spyglass Drive

 
PISMO BEACH, CA (July 5, 2022) — Officials arrested 21-year-old Alejandro Cuellarmanado of San Miguel in a DUI crash on Thursday, June 30.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, they received a call at 6:50 p.m. for a possible DUI driver. The report described the vehicle as a red Chevrolet pickup heading southbound on Highway 101 through Atascadero.
 
A Templeton CHP officer tried an enforcement stop on the vehicle. However, Cuellarmanado, who drove the car, fled through traffic at high speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
 
The pursuit went through San Luis Obispo and all the way to the Price Street exit in Pismo Beach. There he crashed with a blue Tesla near Spyglass Drive.
 
Two passengers in Cuellarmanado’s vehicle and two people in the Tesla sustained minor injuries.
 
Officials booked Cuellarmanado into County Jail at 7:30 p.m. on felony evading charges and felony DUI. There are no other individuals taken into custody.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
