Head-On Crash on Highway 247 near Crestview Road Injures Aldo Cantabrana and On-Duty Sheriff’s Deputy
JOHNSON VALLEY, CA (April 28, 2021) – Aldo Cantabrana sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash Tuesday morning, April 20.
The accident happened around 6:15 a.m. on Highway 247 near Crestview Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 35-year-old Yucca Valley resident was driving a gray Nissan Altima northbound at approximately 55 mph.
At the same time, an on-duty sheriff’s deputy was driving an unmarked departmental silver Ford Taurus. He attempted to pass an unknown vehicle when he collided head-on into Cantabrana’s Nissan.
As a result, both drivers suffered major injuries. Morongo Basin Ambulance transported them to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
