Fatal Car Accident in Walnut Creek, Adam Kao Identified

 
WALNUT CREEK, CA (October 19, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on Ygnacio Valley Road on October 15.
 
54-year-old Walnut Creek resident Adam Kao died in the accident, according to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly after 7:00 a.m. in the area of Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove Road. After crashing the sedan into a sound wall, Kao got out of the car and walked into the roadway. However, that is where he ended up in the path of a vehicle that struck him.
 
Kao died of his injuries a short time later.
 
The woman whose vehicle struck him stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
At this point, an investigation is still ongoing. Also, no other details are available.
