76-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle at McKinley Avenue and Harrison Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (April 28, 2022) – Abelina Ortiz-De Garcia died in a pedestrian accident in central Fresno on Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. on April 27 in the area of McKinley Avenue and Harrison Avenue. According o the Fresno Police Department, the 76-year-old victim was crossing the street from Fresno High School outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her.
 
As a result, Ortiz-De Garcia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver stopped and cooperated with police. They told officers they did not see the victim.
 
Officers do not suspect alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
