Head-On Accident on Highway 160 in Sherman Island Kills Suspected DUI Driver Aaron Price

 
SHERMAN ISLAND, CA (June 2, 2022) – A suspected DUI driver died while three children were injured after a head-on accident on Highway 160, late Sunday evening.
 
The Sacramento County coroner identified the man as 38-year-old Aaron Price of San Ramon.
 
The accident happened around 10:20 p.m. on May 29 near the Antioch Bridge and West Brannan Island Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Prince drove a Mazda southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed.
 
Police suspected Prince of driving under the influence when he crossed over the double-yellow lines and collided head-on into a northbound Audi, driven by a 70-year-old Rio Vista woman. The impact caused the Mazda to overturn on its roof.
 
Prince was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
 
All three children in the car – ages 15, 6 and 4 – were hospitalized with major injuries. The H-32 helicopter took one of the hurt children to Children’s Hospital in Oakland. Officials transported another child to UC Davis.
 
Witnesses said the driver who caused the collision had been driving recklessly before the crash, CHP said.
 
The other two injured people were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
 
Further investigation is underway.
