Two Siblings Aaliyah Girard and Legend Girard Dead in Menifee Car Crash

 
MENIFEE, CA (October 26, 2021) — Two children – who have been identified as siblings – died in an overturned car accident on Domenigoni Parkway near Lindenberger Road on Wednesday, October 13.
 
The coroner’s bureau identified the victims as 16-year-old Aaliyah Girard and 1-year-old Legend Aries Girard, both of San Jacinto.
 
According to reports, the fatal solo-car crash happened around 5:22 p.m. The Girard family drove in a Chevrolet pickup truck towing a trailer. However, a Ford pickup side-swiped their truck as both vehicles drove west on Domenigoni Parkway.
 
As a result, the collision caused the Chevy and its trailer to overturn, ejecting Aaliyah and Legend – killing them both.
 
The 18-year-old Ford driver did not sustain any injuries. However, jail records show police booked him into Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence. After that, police released him in lieu of $7,500 bail. However, he is due to appear in court in January.
 
Police do not believe drugs and/or alcohol are a factor. In addition, the 18-year-old man is cooperating with the investigation.
 
The Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention. However, two other passengers in the Chevy were sent to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to the Menifee Police Department.
