Elderly Man Hit, Injured by Car in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on 10th Street

 
OAKLAND, CA (April 27, 2021) — A 95-year-old man suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on 10th Street on Sunday, April 25.
 
According to the police, the crash happened at around 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Jackson Street.
 
Police said that the man, an Oakland resident, walked westbound in the marked crosswalk. Then a silver Toyota Sienna traveling northbound on Jackson Street struck him. Investigators are trying to find out who had the green light, authorities said.
 
The driver of the Toyota, a 62-year-old Oakland resident, did not sustain any injuries. The passengers in the vehicle were not hurt, police said.
 
The elderly pedestrian who suffered injuries was in critical condition on Monday.
 
The Toyota driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police traffic investigators. Alcohol, drugs, or speed, do not appear to be factors in the incident.
