Multi-Vehicle Crash near Del Rosa Avenue in San Bernadino Leaves 9 Injured, 2 Critically

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (May 1, 2023) – Nine people were injured, two of them critically, after a multi-vehicle accident near Del Rosa Avenue and Highland Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just after 2:30 p.m. on April 30. According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, seven vehicles collided for unknown reasons. Many of them sustained severe damage from the crash.
 
Several of the victims had to be extricated from their vehicles.
 
Two critically injured people were rushed to a nearby trauma center. Seven other people suffered moderate injuries, some of whom were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
 
While officials are investigating the cause of the crash, witnesses said that the driver of a vehicle that was overturned at the crash site was heading southbound on Del Rosa Avenue when they ran a red light, causing the multi-vehicle pile-up.
 
It is unknown if drugs and alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
