89-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (December 8, 2022) — An 89-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Fletcher Parkway near Johnson Avenue.
 
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday.
 
Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a 2014 Kia Optima struck the 89-year-old man, who later died at Scripps Mercy Hospital. Authorities have yet to release his name to the public.
 
Following the crash, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol did not play roles in the accident; however, an ongoing investigation should confirm any unclear details.
