Elderly Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident on Rancho Santa Fe Road and Rue De Valle

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (January 10, 2022) — An old man suffered injuries in a hit-and-run on Rancho Santa Fe Road on Wednesday, January 5.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, an 86-year-old walked across the 500 block of Rancho Santa Fe Road. Then a black extended-cab Chevrolet 1500 traveling northbound hit him just after 7:00 a.m.
 
Following the incident, the motorist continued driving and left the scene. Paramedics took the elderly man to a hospital for treatment of serious head trauma.
 
A surveillance camera captured photos of the truck. Detectives said it’s a black 2010 to 2013 pickup truck with an extended cab. It has a damaged side mirror on the passenger side as a part came off when the crash happened.
