Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 24th Street near San Jose Avenue in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 4, 2021) – An 85-year-old man died following a pedestrian accident on 24th Street in San Francisco’s Mission District.
 
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened on January 19, at about 8:31 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a Toyota Corolla hit the victim near San Jose Avenue, just west of the 24th Street Mission BART station.
 
Emergency crews rushed the man to a hospital, where he died on Saturday. Authorities did not release the identity of the victim.
 
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old Toyota driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Detectives ruled out impairment as a factor in the fatal accident.
 
San Francisco police asked witnesses to call the department’s tip line at (415) 575-4444. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
