One Seriously Hurt in Pedestrian Accident on 24th Street near San Jose Avenue
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 4, 2021) – An 84-year-old man sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on 24th Street, Tuesday January 19.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. The man attempted to cross inside of a marked crosswalk when a vehicle hit him near San Jose Avenue, just west of the 24th Street Mission BART station.
Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital with critical injuries. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the injuries of the victim were no longer considered life-threatening.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The SFPC Traffic Company continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
