Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Accident on Gilman Street at Tenth Street in Berkeley

 
BERKELEY, CA (January 5, 2022) – An 83-year-old woman suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Gilman Street on December 29.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Tenth Street around 11:29 AM.
 
Based on a report, the woman was crossing the street at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a car made a left-hand turn and hit her. She was in the crosswalk and the vehicle fled the scene afterward.
 
As a result, the elderly was hurt in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
 
Later on, officers with the Berkeley Police Department were able to locate the driver of the vehicle in a hotel room. They charged the 58-year-old man with hit-and-run causing injury, driving while unlicensed, and revocation of parole. An investigation into the case is ongoing.
