SAN DIEGO, CA (October 4, 2021) – An elderly woman suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Montego Drive on September 29.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near La Cuenta Drive at approximately 6:20 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, the 82-year-old victim was walking across the street prior to the crash. At the same time, a 76-year-old female driver was heading west in a 2014 Mazda CX-5 SUV. Due to unknown reasons, the left side of her vehicle struck the pedestrian.
 
As a result, the victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident. Paramedics her to a hospital for treatment. Among the injuries were fractures to both the leg bones beneath the knee in one of her legs.
