Elderly Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries after Struck by Ambulance on Highway 94 in Lemon Grove

 
LEMON GROVE, CA (November 27, 2022) – An 80-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 94 in Lemon Grove early Tuesday morning on November 22.
 
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. near Waite Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, the elderly pedestrian was walking along the eastbound side of the highway when an American Medical Response ambulance struck him.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and took the man to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego with moderate to serious trauma. The victim was expected to survive.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
