Child on Scooter Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Shadow Hills Street in Menifee

 
MENIFEE, CA (July 5, 2022) – An 8-year-old boy died in a scooter accident on Shadow Hills Street in Menifee on Sunday evening, July 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:00 p.m. in the 29000 block of Shadow Hills Street, a residential cul-de-sac east of Menifee Road. According to the Menifee Police Department, the child was riding the scooter near the front yard of a home when he entered the roadway.
 
A vehicle traveling westbound on the street then struck him.
 
Bystanders and paramedics attempted saving the boy, but he died at the scene.
 
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
