Child Dies after Car Crashes into Shipping Container near Washington Boulevard in Pico Union
PICO UNION, CA (June 5, 2023) – An 8-year-old boy was killed in a car accident near Washington Boulevard and Toberman Street late Saturday afternoon.
The fatal accident happened around 5:08 p.m. on June 3. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, an SUV carrying the child crashed into a stationary container and possibly another vehicle.
First responders rushed the boy to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The 36-year-old mother of the child was the one driving the SUV. She was also hospitalized in stable condition.
The cause of the deadly crash remains under investigation. Officers are interviewing witnesses in the area to gather more information.
