Carla Viera Suffers Major Injuries in Fatal Crash on Highway 49 at La Barr Meadows Road in Grass Valley

 
GRASS VALLEY, CA (April 15, 2022) – A 79-year-old woman died while Carla Viera suffered major injuries in a crash on northbound Highway 49 on April 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at La Barr Meadows Road around 1:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, a conifer tree fell during a storm. Subsequently, it landed on and crushed the passenger compartment of a 2019 Nissan Rogue. Then, the tree also hit a 2010 Honda Accord, a 2005 Honda Accord, and a 2013 Ford Escape.
 
As a result, a passenger in the Nissan Rogue, a 79-year-old woman, died in the incident. Officials did not release her name pending kin notification. The driver of the 2005 Honda, Carla Viera, suffered major injuries in the incident. Paramedics sent her to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment.
