OXNARD, CA (June 18, 2024) — A 79-year-old and a toddler were among five people injured in a 2-car accident on Victoria Avenue near 5th Street.

According to the Oxnard Police, the two-car crash happened around 3:32 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a 79-year-old Port Hueneme driver made an illegal turn and crashed into a Ford F-150 truck. Subsequently, Oxnard police and paramedics responded, taking two Ford passengers to St John’s Hospital with minor injuries.

As for the 79-year-old driver of the black Lexus, she suffered critical injuries. In addition, two others in the Lexus, including a 19-year-old child, suffered unknown injuries.

At the time of the report, authorities said they didn’t believe speed or impairment factored into the crash. However, those with more information can contact the Oxnard police.

Obey all road signs that help keep the road safe. Making an illegal turn can throw off other drivers and lead to riskier situations. Everyone must be wary of their surroundings and pay attention to reckless drivers.
