Man on Bicycle Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries after Hit by Vehicle in San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (September 26, 2022) – A 79-year-old man was severely injured in a pedestrian accident at Via Vera Cruz and West San Marcos Boulevard on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 9:15 a.m. on September 20. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the man was riding his bicycle when a vehicle struck him at the intersection.
 
When officers arrived, they located the man suffering from life-threatening injuries, including severe head and leg injuries. Paramedics transported him to Palomar Medical Center in critical condition.
 
The 23-year-old driver remained on scene and was unharmed.
 
Drugs or alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
