79-Year-Old Man Killed in Sacramento Multi-Car Accident on 80 Freeway
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 23, 2022) — A 79-year-old man died in a multi-car crash on the 80 Freeway near El Camino Avenue on Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred around 1:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, several cars crashed, closing all eastbound lanes of the 80 Freeway shortly thereafter.
One occupant involved, a 79-year-old man from Rocklin, suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
At this time, investigators have not identified the precise cause of the crash or the fatal victim’s name pending notification of next of kin. However, we will update this report once we receive more information.
