NAPA, CA (August 9, 2022) – Police confirmed that an elderly woman suffered serious injuries in a car accident in the 6100 block of Silverado Trail on August 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 4:23 PM.
 
Based on reports, the 78-year-old woman was driving her 2021 Audi Q3, exiting the parking lot of a vineyard in the area. Subsequently, the vehicle continued down an embankment. Officers said the woman was apparently trying to park and may have mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to roll down the hill.
 
As a result, the victim suffered major injuries in the incident. Immediately, paramedics worked to extricate her from the car before an American Medical Response ambulance took her to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center.
