Elderly Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Sedan on South Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, CA (September 9, 2024) – A 76-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on South Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos Friday evening on September 6.
The fatal accident happened around 9:10 p.m. at the intersection with Shubin Lane. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a white Toyota Camry was heading southbound on South Twin Oaks Valley Road when it struck the elderly pedestrian who was walking along the roadway.
The impact caused the victim serious injuries.
Paramedics responded and rushed the woman to Palomar Medical Center Trauma Unit, where she died shortly afterward.
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the Camry stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
