Bicyclist Suffers Broken Left Clavicle and Several Broken Ribs after Struck by SUV on Cushing Road in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 23, 2021) – A 75-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a bicycle accident on Cushing Road in San Diego, Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:00 p.m. on November 17 in the area of 2300 Cushing Road near Liberty Station NTC Park. According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was riding his bicycle southbound when a Ford Escape SUV struck him.
 
The impact ejected the man from his bicycle onto the roadway. He suffered a broken left clavicle and several broken ribs. He was taken to a hospital where his injuries were determined not to be life-threatening.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Escape cooperated with the investigation. SDPD is still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
