75-year-old Denver Williams Dead, Jatinder Sidhu Hurt, Vehicle Crashes Into Semi-Truck on South Avenue near Michigan Avenue
CORNING, CA (December 8, 2022) — Denver Williams died in a head-on crash with a big rig on South Avenue near Michigan Avenue Monday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the semi-truck collision happened around 5:40 p.m. For unknown reasons, Williams tried to pass up a slower-moving vehicle by using the opposing lane. However, he did not have enough room and entered into the path of an oncoming Freightliner. As a result, his westbound Kia crashed into the eastbound Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by 28-year-old Jatinder Sidhu, of Kent.
As a result, Williams suffered fatal wounds and Sidhu suffered a minor shoulder injury from the seatbelt.
At this time, investigators do not believe alcohol contributed to the accident. Although, if any witnesses would like to help with this investigation, please call the CHP at 527-2034.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Denver Williams.
