Man Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck while Crossing Polaris Drive in Mira Mesa

 
MIRA MESA, CA (November 14, 2022) – A 74-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident at Polaris Drive and Capricorn Way in Mira Mesa on Friday morning, November 11.
 
The accident happened just after 7:30 a.m., about a third of a mile west of Black Mountain Road. According to the San Diego Police Department, the victim was crossing the intersection when a pickup truck hit him.
 
The impact caused the elderly man fatal injuries and he died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
 
The driver of the truck remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
