74-Year-Old Man Killed in Tractor Crash on Dairy Avenue
KINGS COUNTY, CA (November 16, 2021) — A 74-year-old man died in a tractor accident on Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue Saturday morning.
According to news reports, the fatal multi-vehicle accident happened around 8:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, an oncoming Freightliner semi-truck collided with a Caterpillar backhoe tractor traveling along the shoulder of Dairy Avenue.
Due to the force of the impact, the tractor overturned and ejected the 74-year-old operator who died a short time later. His name has not been released.
At some point during the accident, a trash truck slammed into the semi-truck and the tractor.
Following the accident, paramedics brought the 35-year-old semi-truck driver to Kaweah Health Medical Center with minor injuries while the third driver suffered no injuries.
At this time, the factors that contributed to the crash require additional investigation. However, police believe foggy conditions might have played a role.
