Victor Zaga Dies in Suspected Hit-and-Run Accident on Matthew Avenue in Rosamond

ROSAMOND, CA (July 21, 2021) – Police identified 73-year-old Victor Zaga as the victim of a fatal pedestrian accident on Matthew Avenue on July 17.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 20th Street West shortly after 9:00 PM.

Based on reports, an unidentified vehicle struck the victim in the lanes. Then, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

As a result, paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner identified him as 73-year-old Victor Vilcapoma Zaga.

In the end, it was not immediately clear what led up to the collision. In addition, the investigation into this case is ongoing.
