Elderly Man on Bicycle Dies after Struck by Car on Peck Road in El Monte

 
EL MONTE, CA (August 15, 2021) – A 72-year-old man died in bicycle accident on Peck Road in El Monte Friday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:45 a.m. on August 13. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Scion was traveling south when it struck the bicyclist in the 4400 block of Peck Road.
 
The impact caused the bicyclist fatal injuries and he died at the scene. The coroner’s office said the victim was an El Monte resident. They withheld his name pending notification of his family members.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Scion, a 20-year-old El Monte man, stayed on scene.
 
At this time, no arrest has been made. Further investigation is underway.
