Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Manchester Avenue in Inglewood

 
INGLEWOOD, CA (February 1, 2022) – A 70-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Manchester Avenue and Van Ness Avenue on Thursday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:35 p.m. on January 27. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the elderly man was crossing the street at a marked crosswalk when an eastbound vehicle turned left onto Van Ness and struck him.
 
The impact caused the victim to hit the roadway.
 
The driver continued north on Van Ness Avenue without stopping to render aid.
 
Responding paramedics pronounced the unidentified victim dead at the scene.
 
Police described the vehicle as a dark-colored, early-model truck with tinted windows. They asked anyone with information about the suspect to call 323- 421-2500.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing. Authorities offered a reward of up to $50,000 to community members who provide information leading to the driver’s identity, arrest and conviction.
