Child Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Rosita Street and 7th Street
SANTA ANA, CA (September 6, 2022) — A 7-year-old boy died in a pedestrian accident on Rosita Street in Santa Ana on Sunday, September 4.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, they received multiple reports of a pedestrian down in traffic lanes of Rosita Street and 7th Street just before 9:00 p.m.
Investigators stated the child crossed Rosita Street when a vehicle traveling southbound hit him. Responding officers discovered the boy within the roadway.
Paramedics brought the child to the hospital in critical condition. He did not survive sustained injuries and medical personnel pronounced him dead. Officials have withheld his identity.
The driver remained at the scene. Officials do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
