DUI Crash in Fresno Sends Seven Children to Hospital, Police Arrest Freddie Guerrero

 
FRESNO, CA (March 7, 2022) – Seven children were injured and police arrested Freddie Guerrero after a DUI crash in Fresno on Saturday afternoon.
 
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on March 5 at the intersection of Ashlan Avenue and Cedar Avenue. According to the Fresno Police Department, a van was trying to enter a shopping center and was turning left, when a truck struck it on the passenger side at a high rate of speed.
 
The truck’s passengers included two children, a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old boy. The van carried five children, ranging from a 10-month to a 9-year-old.
 
Paramedics took all the children to a hospital, one with a broken leg. The severity of the other injured was unspecified, but all of them are expected to recover.
 
Guerrero, 30, was the one driving the truck. Police arrested him and booked him on charges of felony DUI and felony child endangerment.
 
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
