68-Year-Old Kolleen Jackson Dies, Brandon Garcia-Castro and Sumer Cheever Hurt in Riverbank Car Crash
RIVERBANK, CA (December 15, 2021) — Kolleen Jackson died in a 3-car accident on Highway 108 at Skittone Road on Tuesday morning.
The fatal multi-car crash occurred around 9:43 a.m. For unknown reasons, 68-year-old Jackson failed to stop behind a westbound Honda sedan that was stopped to turn left onto Skittone Road. Subsequently, Jackson turned left to avoid a rear-end crash, but her Ford SUV struck the left rear of the Honda. From there, her Ford traveled clockwise and overturned on its left side before a Chevrolet SUV struck the right side of the vehicle.
As a result of the accident, Jackson, of Riverbank, suffered fatal injuries.
As for Brandon Garcia-Castro of Oakdale — the Honda driver — he suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Chevy driver, 27-year-old Sumer Cheever of Modesto, sought care at Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.
Following the accident, paramedics brought 3-year-old Joseph Aldaz, 2-year-old Vanessa Aldaz and 6-year-old Sophia Aldaz to a hospital as a precautionary. Per reports, they were riding with Cheever.
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the cause of the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should determine the details.
Our deepest thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Kolleen Jackson.
