67-Year-Old Krzysztof Sobieszczanski Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash near Emery Street and MacArthur Boulevard
EMERYVILLE, CA (January 9, 2023) — Krzysztof Sobieszczanski suffered injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Emery Street and MacArthur Boulevard.
According to Emeryville police, the hit-and-run happened in a Nordstrom parking lot at the busy shopping center on Emery Street. Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sobieszczanski tried to park his Toyota Tacoma when he noticed a woman in a minivan also maneuvering in the parking lot. Subsequently, he proceeded to take another spot to give the lady more room.
However, as he got out of his pickup truck, he realized he had forgotten his phone. He then walked to his truck before returning toward the store when the woman in the Dodge Caravan or Plymouth Voyager struck him.
According to Sobieszczanski, why the woman struck him remains unclear as the pair did not engage in any altercation or exchange.
