67-Year-Old Frank Wright, 71-Year-Old Michael Gilles Die in Fiery Plane Accident near Chino Airport in Chino

 
CHINO, CA (June 18, 2024)Frank Wright and Michael Gilles died in a fiery plane crash near the Chino Airport on Saturday.
 
According to authorities, the twin-engine Lockheed 12A crashed around 12:35 p.m. For an unknown reason, the aircraft nosedived and caught fire after crashing west of the airport. Soon after, firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze 10 minutes before finding 67-year-old Frank J. Wright, of Riverside, and 71-year-old Michael P. Gilles, of Aliso Viejo.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that both men were licensed to fly multi-engine airplanes.
 
According to reports, the airplane, which crashed during the Yanks Air Pops & Props event, belonged to the Yanks Air Museum. However, details surrounding the crash is unclear. If anyone can help investigators, contact the National Transportation Safety Board investigators.
