66-Year-Old Martha Barajas Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Lander Avenue at 9th Street

 
TURLOCK, CA (November 22, 2021) — Martha Barajas died in a pedestrian accident on Lander Avenue at 9th Street, Wednesday evening.
 
According to Turlock Police, the fatal incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a dark GMC Sierra struck 66-year-old Barajas as she walked eastbound in a marked crosswalk.
 
Soon after, a nurse began rendering CPR before paramedics arrived to bring her to a hospital. However, despite receiving life-saving efforts, Barajas died from her injuries.
 
Meanwhile, authorities interviewed the 43-year-old driver of the GMC and ruled out impairment as a possible source. However, an investigation into this case remains.
