Child Hit, Injured by Car on Ashlan Avenue near West Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (December 12, 2022) – A 5-year-old sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Ashlan Avenue, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened on December 7, at about 7:30 p.m. A mother was pushing a child in a stroller and another child was walking alongside her. Then, a vehicle hit the 5-year-old near West Avenue.
 
Emergency crews transported the child to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
As per reports, the mother and the child in the stroller did not sustain injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Authorities believe that the family attempted to cross against the red light.
 
Fresno police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
