5 missing in US Navy Helicopter Accident near San Diego Coast and Baja California

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 1, 2021) — Five people are missing after a US Navy helicopter crashed near the San Diego coast and Baja California Tuesday.
 
According to officials, the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. about 60 nautical miles off the San Diego coast. For unknown reasons, an MH-60S helicopter crashed while conducting routine flight operations. Per reports, it had been aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln prior.
 
Following the accident, officials launched a search and rescue operation for the aircraft. Officials rescued one person. However, rescue efforts remain for the outstanding five.
