2 Hospitalized after Three-Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 near Avila Beach and Pismo Beach

 
AVILA BEACH, CA (April 6, 2021) – Five people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 101, Saturday afternoon.
 
According to Cal Fire, the incident happened at about 3:07 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, three vehicles collided between Avila Beach and Pismo Beach, just north of the Shell Beach Road offramp.
 
Emergency crews rendered aid to five injured victims. As per reports, two of the victims were transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.
 
California Highway Patrol temporarily closed one lane of the freeway to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
