4-Year-Old Boy Hurt in Modesto Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Donald Street

 
MODESTO, CA (August 8, 2022) — A 4-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Donald Street near Hancock Street on Saturday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the hit-and-run accident happened as the child and his caregiver were standing near a stopped ice cream truck. For unknown reasons, a driver in a possible white Dodge Nitro SUV was speeding down Donald Street when the suspect struck the 4-year-old child.
 
Rather than stopping to help the boy, the driver left the scene and fled northbound on Hancock Street.
 
Soon after the 9:40 p.m. crash occurred, paramedics responded and airlifted the child to UC Davis Medical Center in serious condition.
 
At this time, investigators need the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in this hit-and-run. If anyone has seen this accident, please call the California Highway Patrol at (209) 545-7440.
