Plane Crashes near Alta Mesa Road in Wilton Leaving Four People in Critical Condition

 
WILTON, CA (October 17, 2021) – Four people suffered critical injuries in a plane crash near Alta Mesa Road in Wilton on Thursday, October 14.
 
The crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. about a half-mile south of Blake Road. According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the plane with four people aboard went down to the west of the Alta Mesa Airpark, 9 miles east of Elk Grove.
 
All four victims; one pregnant woman, two men and one boy; suffered burns and were in critical condition. An air ambulance took one of them to UC Davis Medical Center. The three remaining victims were transported to the hospital by ground.
 
There were no victims on the ground and no structures were threatened by the crash.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates.
