3-Year-Old Zalyee Embery Dies in Riverside Car Crash on 215 Freeway

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (November 28, 2022)— Zalyee Embery died in a two-car accident on the 215 Freeway near Blaine Street on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened around 12:33 a.m. on the southbound 215 Freeway. For unknown reasons, a person operating a 1997 GMC pickup truck was reportedly experiencing mechanical issues, prompting the driver to pull toward the right shoulder.
 
Subsequently, a driver in a 2018 Kia Optima approaching the GMC was unable to stop behind the truck and crashed into the GMC, causing the Kia to overturn onto the roadway.
 
In the accident, a right-rear passenger of the Kia, identified as Embery, died at the scene.
 
Another 3-year-old victim sustained severe injuries while the Kia driver suffered minor injuries. All injured occupants were brought to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment.
 
After the crash, police investigated the incident and determined that alcohol played a factor in the crash.
