Three Suffer Major Injuries after Head-On Crash Between 2 Vehicles on Highway 154 in Los Olivos
LOS OLIVOS, CA (April 19, 2022) – Three people were seriously injured in a head-on accident on Highway 154 in Los Olivos on Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 10:50 a.m. on April 16 near Foxen Canyon Road. CHP officials said a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 69-year-old Los Olivos man, was heading west when it drifted into the eastbound lanes. It then collided head-on with a Chevrolet Blazer, driven by a 37-year-old San Francisco man.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews responded to the scene and extricated one person from the wreckage.
A total of four people were injured. Both drivers and a 37-year-old male passenger from San Francisco who was in the SUV were in critical condition.
The county Air Support Unit’s Copter 3 landed on the highway to pick up one of the critically injured patients for transport to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The other victims were transported to Cottage Hospital by ground ambulance.
At this time, an investigation into this crash is ongoing.
